When I was younger I could see Through the façade in front of me As I grew older, thankfully I learned to live with fake realities And frailty. Sometimes the people I thought I knew Are patterns repeating over fantasy As we move forward through time and space All but a few are scarred by tragedy Catastrophe You know that I can't look you in your eyes You know that I believe you it's in your eyes In the end, it's all a game Digital characters we choose to play Back to the start, it's all the same Spawn a new life and try again Conspire again

Sick 04:57
I’ve got this feeling I’ve been here before And I’m falling into the habit again You see the way that I deal with this Is sinking, drowning away the pain This time I have to myself I can’t seem to do anything I know that I cannot feel it The pain builds and drags me to hell Over and over Burning my soul Taking my feelings away Repeating pain I’m nothing to you And you’re nothing to me Cause I’m sick Sick of you Tell me something I don’t understand Like you’re walking away Hell for the lonely I’m seconds from having a plan But I’m lazy Hazy Over and over Burning my soul Taking my feelings away Repeating pain I’m nothing to you And you’re nothing to me Cause I’m sick Sick of you

Drinkspike 04:01
so sad and engaging I don't believe you will be happy In the way you go I cant help but worry Of the things you say And the things you do Simple pleasures sought to long and fought too hard Seems to me you'll always be this way And I cant be with you when you're without Hard to think bravely To react the way To the things you say Stumbling and straying Through the night And across my way Like a black cat Fought too hard Gave up nine lives Oh you're just playing Well pick yourself up off the ground Seems to me you'll always be this way And I cant be with you when you're without

Sensitive just like The times I had before I need to let you know I'm fine You said be patient Or did you just ignore My breaking heart crying for more Same sweet whispers a thousand times or more Helping me to understand I'd hate to think I'd hurt People I adore I don't want to hurt you anymore All I ever wanted was to be with someone just like you All I ever wanted was to see like someone just like you Your eyes outshine the fires Your kisses cause inside Like the way your hand feels in mine I need you close to me Away from all these lies I'll ask again, please stay All I ever wanted was to be with someone just like you All I ever wanted was to see like someone just like you All I ever wanted was to be with someone just like you All I ever wanted was to free someone just like you From me

Better Off 04:05
Hopeless on the verge of breaking down Helpless in your eyes Something brings you closer to me And I hurt you with my lies I know it’s over as the feelings go away Why can’t I be the only one I know it leaves you when the bad things come your way That’s why I’m better off alone Strangers make it easier to breathe Anonymity Drowning in a deep philosophy Can’t you make me see Ch Hold on to the way I make you feel Leave me as a friend Go now to a place that makes you real Leave me on my own Ch

#VERSE I’ve been riding real high tonight Since you’ve gone Couldn’t tell how far I’d flown Now we’re done In the mirror in the morning light I crave your touch I could see it from day one And the way you come Is the way you go It’s the way you go #VERSE I’ve been chasing tornados Believing my words count Wondering all the reasons why I’m so damn lost Telling myself, I’m alright Despite the warning signs I don’t know anything And the way you come Is the way you go #CHORUS The way you come is the way go And when you’re high, I’m so damn low The way you come is the way you go And when you’re high, I’m so damn low #INSTRUMENTAL #CHORUS The way you come is the way go And when you’re high, I’m so damn low The way you come is the way you go And when you’re high, I’m so damn low

V1 All my life Waiting for Something right Replayed over and over Reminds me I’m only human Makes me feel a little down V2 Seems to be More than I want to see Hopefully Opens the door and I’m walking through CH Where’s my poet? Where’s my dance? Has it all been left to chance In a world I can’t entrance? Who’s to say I’m growing old When my wings are made of gold? My God I know you told me before V3 I breathe the air Holding it down Feel like I’m there Flying Sense I’m reaching the final stage now Why can’t I dream forever V4 Hold it close Desperate Panicking Falling… i’m falling

VERSE It’s dark in her room right now Everyone left hours ago A ticking clock by her bedside light The window is open as it begins to snow She’s wearing her mother’s ring CH She sees faces in the patterns on the wall Every day they call her name She see faces in the patterns on the wall They keep her secrets and take the blame VERSE Shadows circle in the darkness now The eerie sound of empty halls A flickering light from a candle or two Fades away as forever calls She’s wearing her mother’s ring

Desperation for silence Overwhelming intolerance At my lowest - irrelevance Cut my veins I’m bleeding Off the rails irresponsible Call the captain, confine him Sell the drama to the jury Open witness to my case Sail away away The end will never come soon enough Operation decadence Corruption of innocence Showering in your opulence Becoming an inconvenience Out the window to the next place Purgatory of intelligence Sell the drama to the jury Open witness to my case Sail away away The end will never come soon enough Sail away far away The end has come for me at last I’m home

about

The Future According to Eve, who some have called a modern 90s post-grunge rock band, is excited to announce the release of their second album, "Patterns". With their signature heavy riffs, intricate rhythms, swollen synths and emotive lyrics, this album promises to be a fresh take on the rock genre.

Purchase through the Dark Escapes store on Bandcamp and get access to 5 bonus tracks recorded live on the Gold Coast, Australia.

"Patterns" showcases the band's continued growth as musicians and songwriters while staying true to their distinctive sound. From the explosive opener "A Life Away From Here" to the reflective "The Way You Go", the album is a journey through the highs and lows of life.

"We are thrilled to finally share our second album with the world. We hope it resonates with our existing fans and inspires new listeners." says multi-instrumentalist Michael Lobb.

Released through their label, Dark Escapes, "Patterns" is an impressive follow-up to the band's debut digital album "Past Lives", which received great feedback and has garnered an impressive following. The musicians, including drummer Kyle Alexander, worked tirelessly in their remote studios, honing their sound and crafting a cohesive album that will leave a lasting impression on listeners.

"Patterns" will be available for digital download and streaming on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Google Play.

The Future According to Eve was formed in 2000 and was resurrected in 2021 as a side project of Inspomia producer Michael Lobb. Their music has been described as a mix of alternative, 80’s rock and post-grunge, with influences from bands such as Rush, Van Halen, and Journey.
